M. Katherine Lynch

Katherine Lynch’s practice focuses on civil rights, employment related litigation, and white collar defense. Katherine graduated from Middlebury College with departmental honors, and received her law degree from the University of Maine School of Law, where she served as the Technical Editor of the Maine Law Review and as a student editor of the Uniform Maine Citations (3d ed.). Also during law school, she was selected as the graduate assistant to Fulbright Scholar Amy Shupikai Tsanga, Ph.D., a human rights attorney from Harare, Zimbabwe. Katherine received recognition for a significant contribution of pro bono hours made during law school at graduation.

Following law school, Katherine served as the law clerk to the Honorable Thomas E. Delahanty II and the Honorable Thomas D. Warren, of the Maine Superior Court, and the Honorable Ellen A. Gorman, now of the Maine Supreme Judicial Court. From 2003-2004, she served as a law clerk to the Honorable John A. Woodcock, Jr., United States District Court, District of Maine. In 2006, Katherine joined the Women’s Studies Department of the University of Maine as an adjunct faculty member.

Prior to joining McCloskey, Mina & Cunniff, Katherine focused her practice on the representation of private sector employers in a range of employment matters and employment-based litigation, including sexual harassment, discrimination, and other civil rights-based claims. She also provided consultation on personnel handbooks and policies, wage and hour concerns, family medical leave, and discipline and discharge.

Katherine is active with several charitable and non-profit causes. She is currently a member of the Executive Board of the Maine Women’s Lobby and Policy Center and a member of the Maine Civil Liberties Union Legal Panel, for which she also serves as cooperating counsel. An outdoor enthusiast, Katherine is an avid telemark skier and also enjoys climbing and mountaineering. She holds dual citizenship in Ireland and the United States.
